Hi guys. Im planning on reupholstering my front seats. If i take off the fabric and leather and pay it down flat, is the blueprint the same for passanger AND driver seat?
The reason why i ask is im planning on taking the cover with me when i go india because its done at a fraction of the price there.
Any response is appreciated.

I have tried in the sub continent before and they can't do it.

I'm with Mobster. What you'll end up with is a set of seatcovers.

Yea when the guy retrimmed my car he made the covers fit my seats. He had to rework some of the dying foam at he same time. You'd also want the door cards trimmed to match.
It doesn't even cost a lot comparing. 500 for a basic vinyl trim as long as your foam is good.

I've found they can do practically anything. I remember taking some Armani suit trousers and some decent materials and they sewed up identical copies for peanuts. Still going today as work trousers!
It's a good idea, but you will need the full cloth templates I guess. Leather will be better as it stretched that bit more IMHO

Textiles I would say yes as most of the material has come from there anyway, but original seat material, no way. They just can't do it.

III guess. I'm not a trimmer so I can't say. I'd still give it a try though!

I do bits and bobs trimming part time at work and if you want it to fit the trimmer would need the cars seats so they can fit and adjust the leather to suit, if you pull a good quality piece of leather you'd be surprised how much stretch there is. THis is why if you look at a lot of retrimmed seats the leather sags or puffs on the larger pieces that get worn, depends how long you want it to last really and how good you want.
