Don't have a lot of time but a quick update
first of all what we came away with:


We got 1 in class overall over the two meetings in the Enduro- being the first 4 seater home- the only cars ahead were GT40s a couple of Shelby Daytonas and a Lola- all sportsracers!
I then picked up a 2 and a 3 in TransAm races

Your Dutch Maestro Jan Lammers broke the lap record in Bennetton F1 car (ex Schumacher)

Concentrating on tasty BMWs see






Very sadly the event at Kyalami was marred by the death of a Motorcyle racer in start line crash and another VSI
in another incident

But that track was unbelieveable- one of the all time great circuits ever
Sarel and I had a really great time- over the course of the Enduro we completely destroyed my Hoosiers- and not much left on the Toyos 888Rs either!

Pity about the accidents, otherwise it must have been the perfect weekend! Nevertheless, great results for you guys!

well the races were held over the 2 weekends and looking closely at the results one could conclude that all but one car were kit cars- we therefore were the second real car home!

the genuine Alan Mann GT40 had a gearbox problem- but was was flying before demise

tragically since my first post we learnt that the second rider also lost the battle for survival

thought I would post pictures of Butch (lest you think I had a BMW here!) BTW that 745i is the original SA touring champ
despite being in the wrong race with the sportscars in our respective classes we did fine! Sarel drove the socks off Butch my Camaro - and at times I too had my moments..................
Butch ran faultlesly my thanks to the excellent race preparation of Scott Racing- well done guys!

We got a first overall in the enduro race in class across both race meetings- the key prize and managed to finish 8 at the end of the Kyalami Enduro behind a set of hot kit cars GT40s and Daytona Coupe replicas (with the exception of 1 Chevrolet Corvette GS) - so we were certainly the first 4 seater and you could say the 2 "dare I say real" car home!
despite running out of fuel- well in fact it was a blown fuse in fuel pump- I did just enough laps to clinch a 2 in that TransAm race- and I got a 3 in the TransAm race at Zwartkops the previous weekend!

I know that you know that the BMW 735i of the 80's has a lot of camaro about it-

Nice! The 745i is the only racing E23 I know, must have put it up somewhere here before, nice to be eye to eye with it. Nice other pics, already tried to find a decent report and photos on the interweb but no luck sofar.

All depends on who's behind the wheel hahaha!

the whole thing was filmed and broadcast on Rapid Motion Sky TV in SA

they have promised me a DVD of action- will send on to you J to work your magic etc IDC!
