Hello all!
I am trying to locate the flasher relay, or maybe it is called the hazard warning relay on my 1978 320i. It has a "L" shaped plug. I pulled off the panel under the steering column, tried to trace the wiring harness from the turn signal arm and hazard switch, however, have not found it. It has an attachment that mounts it to the body somewhere.

With power on the car you could go for the ticking sound of course but perhaps that's not the case. It's mounted under the steering column so with the lower plastic cover off its right in front of you.

Location could depend on build or LHD/RHD perhaps. What I know is that I used to find them attached to the steering column, close to and connected to the indicator stalk like below.

Thinking about it i think it was towards the end of 77 when the relay was moved to the steering column from under the dashboard and in 78 they changed the end of the stalk from a round end to the later style not the other way round as i thought at first....should be easy to find as both locations are not more than 30cm apart...edd..
