1978 323i S50 Propan New update 2017!
Yesterday i got my new e21
It is a 99% perfect chassi,small dents-no rust.
It has not been driven for 10 years
Found it in a barn in the country.
Bit specs:
Spax,H&R,Tarox, leather,Rial rims as speaking, but most of the parts is gonna be change over from my other blue one.
All windows is painted a bit black(proffesionals)
Only thing I am keeping is the inside roof,it is from e30 and it looks great with the plastic and all.
It is maybe finished next summer.
Enjoy.
No engine yet-it is coming.
Check out the rear side windows
The wheel cases are build to fit 9x16 ET 0 Rims
It got E30M3 black leather seats.I`m putting in my Original e21 leather instead.
Also E30 dashboard,i`m bying new e21 facelift dash from BMW instead.
What you think about that?

Thanks.Jeroen wrote:Good buy! Even for an originality freak like me the E30 interior doesn't look to bad... may be worse if U take a closer look... dunno... but never seen that before!
It does not look bad at all,but i`m half an original freak and putting in my e21 leather seats
The dash board does not either look too bad,but i feel it is wrong in e21.
But the roof is absolutely nice. I take a picture of it some day.

Hehe,a old friend of mine had it as a prosjekt 10 years ago,he painted it 5 times with the colour, water pussed(?) it between and 5 layers with clear paint after.rasb1 wrote:Looks AWESOME
How does a car like this end up in a barn for 10 years ?!?
He bought many racing parts to it(spoiler, spax, bilstein, tarox)and so he got a kid in the house.
The original Hartge 3,5 was sold first and 1 year later another friend bought the chassi with the rest of the parts.
Since then it have never been finished with the driveline and engine.
Last ovner made the rear to fit e30m3 lsd and put in the e30m3 leather.
Is has not even been open for 5 years
10 years ago the first owner bought a original Hartge H3 3.5 from Germany.
And so he put all the parts in this chassi,it is a 323i original.
And the best of all,i called the first owner today, and he maybe had the original pink slips from the car was bought new here in Norway.
Is it 10 years since he did the hole car,and it is abolutely NONE rust or corrosion still on the car.

Propan,
Believe me when I say this, but this replacement E21 has to be one of my favourites on this forum. I love the colour, the wheels and the E30 mods and personally wouldn’t change a thing. I can see why someone would want to keep the E21 dash but the E30 one actually suits the car well and if someone’s done a good enough conversion that doesn’t squeak and rattle, I can’t see the point of going through the expense and hassle of changing it back again. Of course its your car, so you know best, I just wish it was mine! Great purchase, and look forward to seeing how it progresses.

The conversion to e30 dash does look very good and it fits ok,but i have`t put some power(battery) on the car yet,so i don`t now how the electrical works under the e30 dash.
And as you can see in the trunk the last owner had a little thing for "in car disco"
And i think he has clipped and rumble to mutch with the wiring for me,i hate it when things don`t work as i want and it is a living hell to find the problem in 130 unoriginal wiring with 10 different colours in one wire.
So i am also changing the hole electrical wiring with new fusebox, and i found out that when i already have the dash free i also change it.
I want the black carpet(rare),leather seats and original dash from my blue in this car. Clean, black and sweat.
I also putting in the 29mm swaybar in front and alpina rear swaybar.
And the Hartge spring from the blue also coming on together with brakes and rims from the blue.
The rims that is on in the pictures i am gonna use on track days with racing tires
And when the chassi is done it put my 500hp engine in it

Now here it looks more like the finished car.
30mm Hartge springs,Spax adjustable and 9x16 rims.
Here`s a better picture of the "Hartge" down force.
I also have ripped the car apart inside.
The Chasi is modified a lot to fit the e30 dash,so i got to weld a bit to fit the original again.

The car is still emty without engine, gearbox, interiour, diffrensial, gasoline etc etc,and the springs are brand new,so it will probably get 25-30mm lower than you see now at the end.Gabi_323i wrote:what offset are the 9x16? and can you lower it more with no rubbing? thanks
The offset is 15,so i put them in front because of my boss to the brakes are 15mm,so the offset will be 0 all around at the end.
The car is build to fit 9x16 with 0 offset.
