Hi guys.

So i am still waiting to take delivery of my 320-6 so i am picking up all the info i can on everything e21 possible :) Hope thats ok :)

I really dont like the look of the 4 headlamp front. I much rather have the front with only 2 headlights. I have found the grille on ebay.de (several sell them, some even brand new) and after searching this forum i also found that the 7" lamps from a Golf Mk1 / early 2 should be a fit in the grille. This is great as there are some very nice "styling" versions on the market, with crosses in them and either in chrome or dark etc. Now i still want to keep the styling to a "down" but the dark headlights of the Golf 1´s are pretty neat i think.

My question is what about what is under the grille ? Do i need to change anything here or will they fit in the existing holes ? Do i need a front from a 4 cyl car (is it really that complex) or is there a "easy" way to do it ?

Hope you can help :)

You need 316 light mounts/buckets. They simply bolt in with 3 bolts. Then you need to wire the single light plugs in.

Ideally you need someone to sell you their singles but they're quite sought after nowadays.

Yeah i thought so.. Hm, i have been looking at the Golf 2 headlamps (early model) and the seem to have a big bracket in wich the light adjustments are made. It could be possible to cut out the required space, and then bolt in the bracket and headlight. The grille by itself is easy to obtain, but i admit i havent seen any lightmounts for the 4 cyl versions for sale yet..

Guess ill have to examine this further when i get the car :)

Thanks for your input mark :)
