I have took all of that nasty stuff off when I removed the front wings, but I have got a feeling that it was there for some specific reason and that I'm going to need to put it back on when the wings are ready to be refitted.
I have been told that I don't ever want to use ordinary silicon sealant in case I ever want to paint anything on the car again (fish eyes).

Fitted my Motorsport ducktail with Sikaflex and it stuck solid for 3 years in all weathers. Just be sure you warm it through to aid application and help line things up.
