M10 boxes will fit but unsure how long they'll last with m30 torque.

E30 M3 boxes fit but cost ££££££.

It's not actually for me but I've tried to find one for him over here and it's proving to be difficult whereas m10's are handy enough to get my hands on

I have an M10 box (Getrag 240) in my M30 powered e30.

Bolts up fine, but you'll need to use the M10 flywheel. If you use a 2002 or e21 M10 flywheel you can use the 228mm S14 clutch which holds the torque fine, but if you use the 215mm clutch from the 318i you'll need an aftermarket uprated clutch to hold the torque.

My box has lasted over a year now in a daily driver - my logic at the time was I can buy 7 M10 gearboxes for the price of one e34 M30 gearbox down here!

I have now sourced an e28 Getrag 260 from a 535i for when the 240 eventually wears out.
