Rare? e21

I have came across this Rare e21
it is a LHD 318i orginally exported to Japan they want Alpina B6 money for it but I don't get why it is a limited edition, unless it is an Edition E but not sure they had a badge.

I like it actually, but sadly a lot of people are making up stickers and plaques these days and this looks like another one. I might be wrong, but does seem a case of buyer beware on this one.

True I just never seen that plague before, but it has got less than 5k miles so its an ideal base to modify

Apart from the badges, is there anything different about it spec wise?
Defo looks ripe for an s54 conversion.

Looks like an Edition E to me as well, painted wheels and mirrors and the big seats. But one with a good spec, A/C, pop out side windows and sunroof. BMW never did Edition plaques on E21's indeed. If the condition matches the 5K mls (condition 1+) I believe it would easily fetch more than 10K Euros here, but as soon as there's work to be done like a (partial) respray then the value drops dramatically as it won't be fully original anymore.
