Which end is it that makes up the difference in length depending on what gear box you have?
Is the rear section always the same no matter which box it is?

Nas,
For mine with the E36 GB I kept the rear the same. Diff to centre bearing original. And had the front modified.
To be sure it would be best to measure the distances with the engine / box / diff in situe.

Yea cool. That means the splines are the same

Yey.
I couldn't remember which end dictated where the center bearing lived.. must be the front section that's specific to the box..
Big guibo prop I have procured is made of aluminum. I don't see a problem but I didn't know that they came like that.

Hope this non scaled sketch helps. Only E36 bit I used was the front knuckle. A new tube welded to this and then welded to the E21 knuckle with the rest std E21. Mine was all steel from an E36 328i Touring 1995. You'll be ok if the front knuckle is steel. Alloy not sure how to do it???

rang D&F (local prop specialist) They say they can make me a shaft up using a front half of a prop. They say they don't modify the alloy one for various reasons..
I have to measure from the center bearing part to the guibo and then give them my old rear section, they will do the rest n all I gotta do is bolt it on.
Thanks for the help Ben.
