Guys,
My Headlight on my 316 blew. Went and got a replacement for it but it does not seem to fit. I can't remember the model number nbut i know for sure it is the right one. DO you have to modify the metal surrounding the lamp or what? It is a single headlight setup.

Are the single lamp units the same as mk1 golf?

No. But it can be modified to fit.
Diameter of the lamps are the same. Lamp suports must be modified.

Not sure I get your question? But the E21 and mk1 golf both use an H4 bulb

bulb is the same H4 unit
