What seats are best fit for e21

Hi all

As part of my e21 project I'd like to swap the seats as it's likely to be be more cost effective than having mine re-upholstered. I know that recaros would be nice but these are so hard to get in good condition that I am looking at some leather seats from another bmw.

I am happy to have a play changing the seat rail, but wanted to know which are likely the best seats for a fit into my e21?

I don't suppose I can get a rear seat to fit but am happy to hear your ideas.

If anyone has good beige/brown seats from an e21 (in Australia) I'd be happy to hear

My apologies if this has already been a topic.

Cheers
Mark

When you say recaros are hard to find, do you mean in general, or E21 specific ones? If it's the latter, then making adapters to fit any recaros into your car is a mornings work! See my how to: http://www.bmwe21.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=20594

Thanks. Just hard to find good condition recaros. Making a new frame isn't a trouble.
I think I'd prefer genuine bmw seats.
Cheers

E30 or E36 seats are cheap and easy to fit even e36 m3 vaders aren't too big. Mostly it's the height of the seat you want to look at, as with most if you just make a simple frame will sit quite high and will be a problem if your lanky. Most bmw seats will go in with some work. Old e24 rears fit in and look nice also e30 rears with a little tweak.
