i brought a 320 auto with 60k, on kick down it seems to go flat, judder and then pick up. i was thinking about replacing the coil for a lucas "gold sports" and possibly higher rate plugs, HT leads, dizzy cap and arm etc... will this improve its performance or is there other areas i should be looking at before this? i understand its an auto and its not for racing i just like to use the power that it has and look after the great lump thats in it :)

any help is much appreciated, also what engine oil is recommended? its not a daily ride just a weekend joy :)

Thank you guys

I would start off by checking ignition components for wear like rotor arm, dizzy cap, spark plugs, damaged wires, eroded connections. If all ok some set of 'performance' ignition components won't solve your problem of course. Next up would be checking ignition timing and -especially- carb adjustment as I expect the cause of your problem is in the carb.
