Having dropped the back axle and tanks to do my welding, which is the easist way to replace them ? Assemble all together and lift, or put in the beam and then add the diff then each side ? Im working alone and the whole lot is kinda heavy to jack up and balance all at once e_surprised

Do the subframe first mate. No point risking injury when trying to bolt in heavy parts on your own. Better still, see if there's someone else in your part of the world, who can offer a helping hand. :thumbsup

put the petrol tanks in first. they are irritating to fit back in otherwise.

I have done rear axle on my own a few times.

Fit the beam only, then drag the diff under with a trolley jack and then lift and slide into place (ideally with a friend). bolt it in. then fit your rear arms, prop shaft then driveshafts loosely get your handbrake working then tighten all the bolts up.

You need to get the angles right so the pins go through the bushes. I had the car body jacked up at a weird angle to match!
