Im a bit late in anouncing this one, and hence the lack of work done on the E21

My baby boy was born on 22 October at 07:54 7lb 12oz, Cameron John Blackwell.

2nd arrival is part of a midlife crisis is my new rolling project:

BMW E12 1980 325e auto, near perfect interior, silver green colour on 16" BMW alloys just a few scabby bits to tidy up to be a lovely car. Deposite paid, collecting tues/wednesday.

pics to follow.

Congrats with the birth of Cameron!

In 1980 there was neither a 325e nor a 525e so I guess you mean a 325e of a later date? Pics please! :takepicture

Congrats on you little baby!!!

Also on the e12, but thats an other league.

Most likely its an 525 carb engine, so no "e". It was jus a carb engine like the 520. 525e arrived at first in the e28

Ahh I thought the "e" was a trim level. It is a carb model. But we will see how long it takes to change that to 6 carbs.
hopefully get pics up soon, collecting tomoorrow. Its a non sunroof so that has helped, still needs a little work, but will strictly be a rolling road worthy job, the interior is in to good condition to bother taking it out.

Nope, the "e" means "economic", thats a 2.7 carb engine, made for the USmarket, low rev long stroke engine, so less polution... In the '80's they had some heavy legislation on cars and exhaustgas.

as promised some pics.
The car originated from wolverhampton that owner had it since 1996. was sold to some one locally to me earlier in the year, he spent a bit on getting it roadworthy, new fuel lines, viscous fan, the 16" alloys and tyres, some paint and so on.
Now i have it.

Generally pretty good condition, with the usual placed on this age of BMW needing attention prob for the next MOT. the front sill corners need repaired due to misuse as jack points. Rear passenger inner sill need a patch. some small patches on the sill jacking points. front wings, front inner wings, rear arches need work, front inner wing next to battery tray. the rest is just small rust spots so just clean fill and paint.

plans so far are just clean clean clean, a nice set of 17" dished wheels, borbet/bbs or something, lowered a bit, and maybe triple carbs.

OK some work to be done this winter, but not a bad car at all. And the interior is like new!
