Hi,

Just needing to get some patch repair on sills but would rather just replace the whole sills, where is best to buy a quality set at a good price?

Anyone have experience with these ones? http://www.clevelandpanels.com/bmw/bmw- ... -7392.html

I'm going to check what the dealers prices are like tomorrow but expecting them to be more expensive

Cheers

Thanks Mark, I spotted them too...so these parts are decent enough quality?

Actually was watching a couple of the vids you posted on YouTube last night, I also spotted a couple of other vids from forum members like drgonzopow too...never spotted them before on my e21 YouTube searches for some reason

Well I have just checked with BMW and they don't actually do the sills anymore for the e21 which they thought was quite surprising themselves so it seems if anyone needs sills it would have to be places like the ones mentioned in the above posts.

Side note for anyone that is experiencing delays on parts from Germany;

I have ordered an o-ring for the bottom of my distributor that has to come from Germany! this was ordered in oct last year and BMW got a response from Germany saying that part should be there on 20th February, they have chased them again and they are now saying it has been pushed back to 17th March then to be delivered to uk 7-10 working days after that. My local dealership parts department dealing with the order advised BMW uk customer service may be able to speed things up. After speaking to them and explaining how long I have been waiting and that this is keeping the car off the road due to an oil leak they have confirmed there is nothing they can do to speed this up but may be able to offer a good will gesture once the part is received and the car is back on the road. They advised they have had a major system failure and the last few months and this has caused a lot of delays so if anyone else is waiting on parts from Germany then this may be the reason why. :(

I don't buy that. BMW is currently making their parts operations more efficient as they'd like to call it. With E30's for example I ran into numerous issues. If things are remotely similar, BMW will just keep one part no active. So for example if you order a M3 front spring, you'll get a 316 front spring and that's all they have left! Also ran into issues with BMW supplying 'interchangeable' parts that weren't, ending in a long fight before getting a refund. New parts productions are run or ordered after collecting a minimum number of orders leading to lead times up to 18 months. And then there's the quality of their chromework. Better buy the cheapest fakes, they're like to last longer than oem.

Real sad developments. The influence of BMW Classic clearly is very limited.

That sound familiar as I have already had a replacement o ring for the distributor from BMW ordered using my chassis and reg, it was only when it started leaking again I checked the part number on the bag it came in and to my surprise it was listed as an e30 part on real oem and completely different part number to the e21 item.

I'm not convinced that the part will be ready this month either going by the carry on I have had trying to get it :hammer
