Small update, I moved house on the 27th November and then Xmas so not much done on the car front. but still plugging away at small jobs when i get a chance.

Before i moved i got the engine in:

Mounts made and installed

i centered the engine between the chassis legs using the crank nut and guessed the minimum height for the dry sump to keep the engine low. I can always shim it up a bit.

2 gallon oil tank, an16 fittings, it will probably be sunk down through the panel to provide clearance for the turbo bonnet and lower CoG.

Image

machined and doweled the dry sump pulley

Image

my new plenum arrived, its o.k quality for £200, just needs a bit of internal work.
Image

Image

then cut n shut onto the M30 manifold.

100mm TB

Image

work on the dry sump, its a double taper design with twin scrapers.
Image
Image
Image
Image

welded up and painted with glyptal
Image
Image
Image

triple scavange
Image

Image

came across a second 25% cluster unit so couldnt resist
Image
Image

just need to make an oil manifold to bridge the block's oil ports in the sump before installing the pan. then weld a an10 fitting on the oil filter housing for supply to maintain 50% filtration & instant bearing supply on startup.

Tyres are std front 225/45/17 rear are 245/40/17 the wheels are rc090 front rims with front centers +20mm soacer, rears are rear rims with front centers with no spacer and clears the wishbone by 20mm.
rear arches are only rolled, not streched.

gearbox was blanked up, degreased, grit blasted then 2 coats wet on wet with u-pol 2k clear.

only 2 bits starting to cloud after 12 months in storage.

Hi Folks,

Still picking at the build when i get a chance.

head has been, cleaned, pressure checked, skimmed 8thou, valves reground and seats cut.
Image
Image

cam position set
Image

new arp studs
Image

Athena coopering HG installed, had to adjust and hold the rings in position with 4 spots of superglue each.
Image

Image

head installed and torqued 30-60-90lbft.
some wrinkle paint
Image
Image
Image

stainless fittings
Image

test fit of manifold

Image

down pipe is going to be creative, prob 3.5" to 2.25" y piece either side the steering column.
Image

test fitted the huge turbo
Image
Image

Holset he531v, in theory best of both worlds exhaust housing adjusts from 9cm to 20cm so fast spool and high top end flow.....but... its huge & heavy, nearly 20kg.

so a Garrett GT4082 due to get rebuilt is in the post, plenty of comressor flow and change the exhaust housing from 1.34 to 0.82 should give me 8psi by 2800rpm

on the dry sump front:

A bridge manifold is being made for the oil ports in the block where the old pump was.

If i cant get a clockwise direction pressure relief valve for the back of the weaver 4 stg pump, i will just block it off and use an inline petereson relief valve

Image

oil fitting need welded to the oil canister, then a few machining jobs to mount the pump....... somewhere.
