Are there any differences between the 316 and 323I fuel tanks?

Re-shelling a 323i and need to know if the donor tanks from the 316 are ok to use with the 323i?

No difference

On facelift cars the tanks are the same. Just the pickup/sender units are different.
323i has a larger pickup pipe and has a return line.
