The Walloth Nesch issues thread

Our friends from wallothnesch in Germany have been good for lots of good NOS parts in the past, and they still do supply some good NOS stuff as well like decent bodywork, panels, but recently more and more issues are reported as they seem to go the cheap imitations or budget solutions route in an increasing number of cases. To prevent people from ordering parts that are known to cause issues, I would like to start a listing of suspect or bad parts. Please refrain from long stories, just report issues.

Before our friends believe they should invite us for a little court session: the listing below is a summary of recent issues reported by registered forum members. All I did was gather them together (a search on walloth will already get you 90% of these cases I reckon).

Chrome like bumpers or wheel bolts: rusting heavily after short period of time
Alternators: remanufactured but failing within 3.000 kms again
Hardy/guibo aka propshaft flex discs: rubber used too soft causing vibrations and leaks
Various rubber parts: for example sway bar bushes showing deterioration within a few 1.000 kms
Brake hoses: rubber of inferior quality causing hoses to dissolve internally
Gearbox to switcher plate brackets: not drilled correctly
Front strut top bearings: bearings weak or already freeplay when new
Clutch kits: noisy release bearing within a few 1.000 kms
Unbranded brake pads: friction material coming off backing plate
Hand brake cables: plastic fittings (metal originally) breaking
Water pumps: leaks or bearings shot after short time
Front indicators: plastic fittings on housing breaking
Window seals: not fitting correctly, too large mostly
Intake air filters: poor fitment
Coolant temp senders: intermittent or unreliable signal from new or within a short period
Paint color labels/stickers: poor quality

I bought a the front and rear mounting packs of bolts, the anti roll bar ones were the incorrect length, they were supposed to be galvanised but they are not galvanised very well.

WN propshaft flex disc, used less than 2.000 kms (no typo!) on a roadgoing and stock 323i. Was showing the known issues of rumbles, lack of balance and hitting the gear lever. You're warned once again!

I've just checked underneath my 23i, and realized that my propshaft disc suffered the same. I ordered it from W&N, and no I havent used my car for drifiting for time attack or racing. About 3k km with a renewed engine block, i really dont know what torque is, i used it like a grandpa...I will pull the sh*t out from my car and will post photos, but the rubber seemed the same as on Jeroens picture. :wtf

No offence intended. Can you confirm correct installation?

Good suggestion and that should be checked on any flex disc indeed. On the two examples I encountered I can confirm they were installed correctly.

Increasing number of reports on bad condition body parts lately as well, panels arriving with surface rust, dents, warped. Some new experiences shared in our Facebook Group yesterday. Just to stay complete on this.
