My 83 316 E21 Project
Re: My 83 316 E21 Project
Haven't updated this in awhile , so here is some progress ill let the pictures do the talking
Got all the hardlines finished but not 100% happy so ill probably redo them but the same bends
Car on the ramp having the struts all welded up
Test fit with a 16 just to see how it would sit
Air all finished and on , it sits slightly rear ranked on the standard wheels , there is a reason for that after a lot of thought and measurements me and my friend luke who done the welding decided to do the rear struts as short as possible to be able to run a good psi at ride on the new 16s , it should sit slightly nose down on the new wheels
Managed to snap my exhaust so
instead of repairing it i decided to go for a full stainless system and centre box delete , as for tail pipe i wanted to keep it oem as possible so i went for the same tip but 1/2 bigger
Before
After
Next i borrowed a set of Rs's off a friend to work out the specs of my new wheels
I love the look of the Rs's but that is not the direction i want to go with this car , my new wheels will be slightly more aggressive poking 6mm more rear and 12mm more front and have 3.5 dish rear and 2.5 front 16x9 , 16x8.5 as for design for now all I'm saying is they're ccw's .
As for whats left to do , my wheels should show up the end of this week along with the tyres then its a test fit before i drop it off at the body shop for the arches to be rolled and a few touch ups , after that all i need to do it put some panels back in the interior and fit the head unit plus i want to give the car a full service

Loving it.
So jealous you get to start with the good bits, any info on the dampers and air bags, min max lengths and so on.
You should do a how to guide with specific sizes for the E21 in the technical section. Im sure there will be many questions on how to do this after people see your setup.

Looks stunning!
What air ride set up have you purchased?
Only thing I'm gutted about with my E21 is not having a stereo at all so would need all completely wiring in which I just can not be bothered with doing lol
