Here is a link to my Radio Aerial, the one on the left is mine and it is located at the front on the left hand side. It recently snapped.

1)Where can I buy one?
2) Is it an automatic thing?

Thanks for your help

Yep that's the standard aerial, as for where you buy it, try the local dealer or Wallothnesch

Or on eBay, I believe it was NLA from the dealer. Its just a manual version, the auto versions usually go to the rear so there's enough room to fit the entire unit in a dry place (well, usually) in the trunk. May start to look like this then (stolen from member Remy):

I don't use it too much as I love the M20's music better so I stayed with the original example myself.

Just follow the tube lol, believe 2 screws on top and two more at the bottom behind the plastic cover in the wheel arch.

If you go for the auto version as depicted by Jeroen, you can buy it here http://www.conrad-electronic.co.uk/ce/e ... a?ref=list. I used it to replace mine. With the hole already drilled and the cables already available it was not such a difficult job...

Heidjan, If I got the auto version, can I fit it instead of the manual one in the same place?

I don't think that will work because a) there's not enough space b) i don't think it's well protected against water and lastly, c) the mounting method of the antenna itself is not suitable for that place. As you can see on realoem at the desriptions, an auto antenna was originally meant to be mounted on the rear of the car. This document provides you additional info about mounting the antenna, the graphs will probably be more clear to you than my words;): http://www.hirschmann-car.com/fileadmin ... a_2050.pdf

3771489, what do you mean by Auto Aerial for the front? hedijan just said that auto aerials go on the back, is there a photo anywhere of an E21 with an Auto aerial on the front? :O

Wow, didn't know auto antennas for front fender mounting also existed. Are these available on regular basis?
