320/6 missing fuel pump ?

I picked up a half completed project a few months back.http://www.bmwe21.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=22387 I've been slowly collecting parts and putting it back together. The car should have a mechanical fuel pump but there is no provision for it on the block. The engine has been rebuild and i believe an ETA block may have been used. Any way to identify what block i may have ? Also if anyone can supply a diagram or explaination of the fuel line routing, i would greatly appreciate it. My son took the fuel tanks out so we could have them cleaned and tested, unfortunately i was unable to get under the car at the time due to knee surgery. The tanks are now back in and i have no idea of the fuel line routing. Thanks.
BTW. It's a 79 320/6 with solex 4A1 carb.

You'lll need the 323i fuelline route.

Newer B20's do not have the mechanical fuel pump option, since all later B20's are fuel injected. There will be 2 fuel lines available on your shell, one feed and one return.
So you will need a high pressure electric fuel pump and filter assembly.

Thanks for the reply. That's kinda what I thought. From what I've researched its best to locate the pump near the fuel tank. Anyone have any recommendation on what pump to use ? What psi should I be looking for ? Could I use an in tank pump from an e30 ? Thanks.

You need a e30 318is pump assembly with a minor mod to shorten the fuel pump supply leg

Thanks for the reply. That was one of the solutions I have found. Should be easy enough to source too.
