Replacement Fuel tank joiner pipe - HELP

Evening all,

I am a newb to the E21 and am planning on doing an introduction with some pictures soon but I'm trying to sort all the issues first. I bought a 1983 316 2 weeks ago and got her through the MOT this weekend :). Whilst underneath I noticed the pipe that joins the two fuel tanks looks pretty perished so I want to replace it asap. I have done some searching but cant find what dimensions it is or where I can get a replacement. If anyone can shed any light on this I would be very grateful.

Also I found this article about replacing the breather lines which I am planning on doing, along with a new fuel filter. Are there any other fuel-related jobs I should do whilst I've got the tanks drained?

Many thanks,

Mark

Put the year of your car in here http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/select? ... &model=316 and you can browse the complete online parts catalogue. Fortunately for you, your car only seems to have a single mechanical fuel pump, so you will be spared looking for a replacement in-tank electric pump.

Great thanks. I can't see any dimensions but the part number is there so I will contact BMW and order one. Looks like I've got some browsing to do... :)

Have a look on the www.PelicanParts.com site. If you enter the part number, often the specs of the hose are in their description.

Thanks David. Unfortunately PP doesn't show the dims but it looks like a pretty useful site to have in my favourites
