Hi all,

I've recently acquired a 2 owner henna red 316i immaculate inside and out, garaged from new with only 42,000 miles from new.

It has good mot history and service history to confirm the mileage.

it's solid as a rock, no wear to the interior.

£580 service just carried out including a full exhaust replacement and a new mot

As it's so hard to put a value on it due to it being such low miles and ownership, I was wondering if I could have some help from the forum before creating an advert for it.

I haven't cleaned it ready for advert photographs as yet but it's completely original, henna red with black cloth interior.

any advice would be much appreciated.

Interesting question and obviously a picture paints a thousand words, so good if you can get some photos up. It's a difficult one to answer really. Personally I feel that while E21's are now becoming a sought after and practical classic overall, the 316 is probably the least desirable e21 in standard spec. As a base car for further mods though (such as an M52 conversion) it would be the one I'd go for because they are usually the least ragged and as a result of having a less stressed chassis, tend to suffer less corrosion.

With 42,000 miles it could go either way. Someone might want to keep it original or use it as a solid foundation for a resto mod. I'm not in the habit of pricing people's cars because it can sometimes cause offence and think I have an ulterior mottive of low balling someone for my own personal gain. Moreover, without actually viewing the car or seeing photos, it would be inaccurate anyway.

With this said, if you're saying it's as clean as you've described it, you should hold out for £5K minimum.

Thanks for the advice Arshad, I was thinking £5995 would be a reasonable asking price. I'll get an advert up over the weekend and post in the for sale section
