Hi there, I'm planning to put my car off the road during the winter and do some servicing. Other than changing the oil and filters, what else is recommended to service?
Thanks

Hi,
Get the wax oil out!! I'm assuming you are storing it undercover? W&N (sorry Jeroen) have a diagram of the waxing points in their handbook; if you don't have one I can post it on the forum - if I can work it out

How about the belts, waterpump, brakefluid, Just check the BMW handbook (on this site available for VIP members) for the service points. For storage: do you concider some storage rims and tyres?

Never heard of waxing points before, what are they? Yeah I think I'll store it under cover with a heater underneath or inside it. You know the little bar heaters?
Belts look like they were changed not too long ago. Until I bought it, it had only done 2000 in 5 years. I'm done 3000 in 4 months.
I have the original steels that I could put on it for storage

And apart from service, what do you guys do for winter storage (if applicable)? Any special preps? I always make sure the car is parked clean and dry and put the tyres on abt 3 bar pressure but that's about it!

I do exactly the same as you, Jeroen. Make sure it's clean, increase the tyre pressure and a final check on the oil level. And I unplug the battery as well. Fortunately, my 323i sits in the garage in my house so I can have a look at it once in a while
Greetz,
Walter.
