Re: Matts 316
No done a few hindred miles in her now. Few teething problems, gear lever has alot of play in it so ended up fitting the old one from the m10.
Fitted a rear arb.
Had to raise rear suspension as it bottomed out under acceleration.
Finally got all the sand out of the geater after engine bay blasting.
Exhaust is very load!
Its fine on motorway but around town when you back off throttle it pops & bangs like mad.
Trying to plumb in additional oil gauges , having trouble finding sendir adapters that will fit.
Still need to get a diff as 4:11 isnt great on motorway (3800 @70mph )
Been trying to find the source of a noise i have in rear when i go over a sharp bump, sounds like a washer somewhere rattling. Its driving me mad!
Have found a local guy who can fab me up a sump guard as im so paranoid about hitting it on our lovely british roads.
Brakes- what brakes?
Realky need an upgrade its scary.
Theyre fine for around town even if a bit stiff but they wont manage an emergency stop .

Looking like some good work there!
Any chance of a video demonstrating this 'too loud' exhaust, I love it when they pop and bang!

Re: Matts 316
Well its been a year since engine went in, drove down to Bummerfest in venlo without a hiccup , santa pod & beaulieu .
All going well,
Still a few bits to do but the big news is i now have brakes!
Yes i was using the standard 316 brakes and totally cooked them on route to holland.
Hi spec in dartford made me a kit up with 285mm discs & 4 pots.
Also have found a device that may help me calibrate the fuel gauge correctly.

Re: Matts 316
so Hi-Spec do a bolt on brake upgrade kit for the E21 front? Not a bad idea to move to 285mm. A link to a website? Curious what it'll cost!
Regards/groeten, Jeroen
