Well i finally bit the bullet and removed the 1.8 m10 engine,
Am now in the process of fitting 2.8 m52 engine
Starting removing bits
Started by steam cleaning as much grime off
Then cleaning up all the rusty bits
Removing all unwanted brackets
Bit of smoothing out needed
Sand blasted all the hard to reach areas the flatted off again then primer
Then base coat & laquer

Had it 2 years now but taken ages to source all the bits required so far
It had been standing since 1995 so needed alot of work to recommision it
So all polybushed and spax suspension
Recaro seats
Only 40,000 miles

Master cylinders now replaced
Exhaust is been made at the moment
Clutch all done
Today pulled off inlet to start wiring
Wipers and heater back on

So wiring all done
Have had exhaust system made , only mild steel but 2.5" single pipe straight through to a single silencer!
Water pump replaced & drive belt on

It runs!!!!
Bit of plumbing left to do etc but it did fire today 1st attempt.

I'd love it if -perhaps a couple of you guys that did this conversion- did something like a detailed project description in a separate Tech topic. So many people asking for this!
