Fuel leak right under rear seats while engine is on!

Hello,

I realised today that it smelled gasoline while driving and I stopped at a parking and realised that it was literally running fuel (not only dripping) from underneath the car. When I turned the engine off it stopped running underneath the car. It was running pretty much right under the rear seat and it seemed to be a little to the cars right side (it was hard to see exactly).

Since its only while the engine is on i guess its something with lines from the fuel pump somewhere where pressure from the pump is needed to reach to? So not like a hole in the tank or something like that...

Any ideas anyone? Appreciate any help!

Tank all filled up? The common problem is a leaking hose between the two tanks or the hoses on top of the tank, so it usually appears with a filled up tank.

Since your problem seems to be on or off with the engine, I think tour fuel line is corroded, or it is the hose between pump and line.

Put it on a ramp and you will see.

It's the fuel line that goes from the fuel filter to the engine. Change the rubber hose, diameter is 8mm. Take it out the back seat, and there is a door. Take it off, tie off the rubber hose from the metal tube, tie off from the fuel filter, and change the rubber hose. Not a big job.

Thats a possibility, but I have seen a fair amount of cars with rotten fuel lines...

hi guys, i took the rear seat out and unscrewed the little hatch and yes - when i started the fuel pump it litterally started a fountain spraying the rear side of the front passengerseat! pretty dramatic w a petrol fountain in the car. i have now changed the fuel line from the filter and it works perfect. thank u all again!!
