Anyone got any write ips of what theyve done?
Currently about to cut rear shelf to fit speakers....
Had done it twice before back in the 90's with a customer parcel shelf a local stereo shop fabricated.
Sounded great back then

Personally I hate cars with a chopped up parcel shelves! You can fabricate a MDF parcel shelf that also sits slightly higher to accommodate larger (deeper) drivers and allows you to pull a piece of cloth straight over it so it's not drawing any attention. A more simple solution is to use filler rings so the speaker sits higher on the shelf.

Yeah. Cutting the parcel tray is illegal here. You will fail inspection on cut trays. Removes to much strength.

I found this for sale locally. A ton work must have gone into it. It's made out of glassfiber on top of an original parcel tray. Very nicely done.

Found the Cerwin Vega's for cheap local too but unfortunately they stick too deep and hit the metal. Could use spacers, but often spacers look a little botched. Very period correct these speakers, but not really my thing.

Seen a few variations around on the internet also:
