Did a bit this weekend.

These B pillars are tricky little blighters with both the inner & outer skin being rotten. Hard to access, too!

Ah yes I forgot about this area, pretty major haha

Question though, what is the cutout hole for - from the inner arch to the bay where the window wiper mechanism is? My guess is a water drain but just just wondering.

Thats correct, to drain the wipermotor compartment. In my topic you can find lots of pics of the panel you are constructing. It's on page 18 and further.

Rust and misery, the weld in the front never stitched, breaks away easily.

Not very good to see, but here are 3 pieces of metal joined, and apparently Brové never used a coating of some kind.

It was supplied with the 1 mirror from factory in 1976, according to the previous owner from new.

I kind of like the overtaking mirror only look!

Other side has a blank .

Hello all !

alright, been a busy boy recently - but managed to get a few e21 bits sorted
Sand blasted the inlet manifold, cam cover and the little inlet trumpet spacer thing where the injectors live.

All painted in matte black epoxy 2 pac paint, after metal primer.

That's come out nice!
Are you going to take the 5 ridges and the BMW emblem back to bare metal?

Yeah potentially Joe, though I would be happier painting over the black with maybe red or white as not to open up to corrosion again, unless lacquered?
Anyway done the other parts now, so can wash down the block, and begin reassembly.

Reassembled (not fully before someone says there's a gap in the inlet manifold hahha)

Question : does a tubular stainless manifold for the e30 318is have any issues with fit in an e21 ?

That looks very nice!

In short, yes. I gave the original E30 steel tubular manifold to the guy who was making my exhaust.
He tried to make it work but abandoned it in the end and just made a stainless one.
In saying that, engine position might change this, mine is fairly far forward so this may have an effect.
