Sports rear seat options?

Any ideas for a "bucket"-style rear (2 seater) ?
Would like this 2+2 sports car touch but iirc, an E24 rear, apart from being rare, needs lots of cutting?
Mark told me that maybe E30 convertible is the way to do it (with some adding needed)
Anyone who has some experience with this or other options?

Why not just use the standard seats as a base? A good upholsterer would have no problem adding some foam in the right places to your wishes.

Should soon have some reupholstering (at least drivers seat is OMG) so I will ask

Yeah, but for the e24 seats you need to cut the rearside, the hard shell needs to be adjusted to the wheelhouses. Then you need to fill up the gaps between the sidepanel and the seat, and the middle piece is some 5 inches to wide. If you don't ajust this all, it will probably fit, but no one with legs below the knee will be able to sit there.

It's a lovely rear seat this one!
But I am not sure if I like the result, I haven't found anywhere pics of this done
