Driver side tail light stays on

If I turn my car off with the left turn signal on, the taillight stays on until I manually cancel the turn signal.
Any thoughts?
working through all my nagging issues!

That's called a parking light, should also work on the other side and on the front small parking lights as well...

So it is supposed to operate this way?
Worries me that I will not notice it when I park it during daylight. And then it will drain the battery!

yes, it is suposed to operate that way. and yes it will drain your battery if left for some time.
how hard is to cancel all your lights and turning lights and sound system and leave the car as it should be left...

Make a habit of straightening your wheels when youve parked.
It should cancel itself then so you wont have to worry.
