40th anniversary - my 1977 320/6.

Hi guys,
I've been absent from the forum for some time (I'm a newbie even though I joined in '09!), and family issues have sidelined the restoration of my 1977 320/6. This car has been in my family from 6 months old, my late Father bought it (for my Mum) from the local BMW dealer - it was a demonstrator.
First registered in November 1977 (built October 1977), I believe it is the oldest 320/6 in the UK, and hard for me to believe it is 40 years old this year. The car is Polaris with Pacific (blue) cloth, 4 speed gearbox and original 13x5.5 steel wheels, no power steering. I sourced many years ago a 5 speed overdrive 'box and prop for this car and it still runs very well with its original Solex carburettor - the car was very well cared for when it was in daily use - the 320 was my car in my final year at university as the 1971 2002 I was running had some terminal issues that I could not afford to repair.
This car has great sentimental value and I'm heartened that prices of E21s have risen in recent years making the restoration (there will be some very subtle mods carried out during the resto') economically viable - not that this is a factor as it was always going to be a labour of love.
I've owned most versions of the E21 in the past - 323i, 323 Baur, Hartge, 316...but the first is always the best.
Thanks for reading this (sentimental post), John.
