Boot emblem replacement

As we will know, the BMW emblem on the boot lid is curved, and as far as I am aware unavailable.
A simple solution to replacing this is to buy a standard low cost emblem as used on flat surfaces on most BMW's.
By applying a little heat to the rear of the plastic base of the emblem to soften the glue, the emblem aluminium shell can be carefully prised away. Then, by carefull thumb pressure, the emblem can be curved to be a good fit onto the original aluminium boot emblem base, having removed the old shell. It is then attached to the base using double sided foam sticky tape.
Job done for about £6, big improvement over original scabby emblem.
