No experience but why would you consider an oil additive .. i d rather use good oil like mobil extended life and change it every 5000 km.

In my opinion oil additives are a waste of time ..

Yes, generally I won't disagree, I was just wondering: why some known manufacturers do keep such products in their catalogues then? If they are already mixing these in their oils, what's the reason to sell the additives separately?

Engine oil additives I wouldn't bother with but I have had good experience of manual transmission additives. When I say good they have quietened down and extended the life of a worn manual transmission, OK it's a bodge but I've found it worth while!

A bit of a late reply here, but can you suggest a good additive for lsd maybe? This is what I need to quieten down on my car...

If a good oil change fo the ricgt spec oil for your lsd doesnt help, then it is worn. But mind you, lsd's tend to be noisier then open diffs.

It's good to know that some noise from an lds might be normal because my noise is not that much. I would however like to have an idea of the kind/type or even "quantity" of noise that an lsd is normal to produce... My diff is heard a bit like a car on reverse gear if I want to describe the noise.

Change bushings on the diff (that helps a lot).
Put some sound isolation in the car.
Swap your LSD unit to less worn out case where ring and pinion are in a good shape.

and change LSD oil every 10000km (or less)

Well, ring and pinion seem to be ok, of course I guess the eye can't tell in such cases...
Sound isolation you mean should be put to the back? for example behind and under rear seat? (for diff noise isolation) ?
