And this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WEBER-38-DGAS ... Sw7ThUlqyr
Look different? Where can I get one which is exactly like the first picture for a 320/6 please?

The first one has just a round mounting plate for the pancake airfilter.
When you look here:
http://bmwe21.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=25748
You see a square air filter that fits on a square plate. (Btw, in that topic is the Weber you are looking for, for sale. I would believe that the youngman speaks English as well).

Hi Priest 008 and Wilmo,
That is my weber and it currently is for sale. The round mounting piece is for the orignial filter, you can just unscrew it. I choose to mount the sport filter on it so what you are seeing is basicly the same.
I give you both if you are interested in the carburetor!

Yes but what is bothering me is the automatic choke.... in the first picture it looks like the perfect carburettor and has the automatic choke which looks exactly like the original solex that is why I am after it. Is the one you're selling new? Can you provide photos and price please

I would say that this choke:
Is the same as this choke:
Both are the water based systems.
There are three abbreviations for three types of chokes in Weber language. The DGx, which is manual, DGEx, with the E for electric and DGAx, which is water based. The small x can be a V or an S. A V-type opens first one valve, then the other. An S opens both at the same time.
I converted my 32/36DGAV to a DGV just by mounting a cable on a round piece of plastic because I did not want the misery of chokes anymore.
What you show here:
Is also just an DGAS. Where do you see differences in the choke?

If you go here
https://www.bmwfaq.org/threads/instalar ... -6.859296/
You can see that the Carb is different, even the automatic choke has both of its metal pipes in a straight line.

I don't understand where you are after. This is to me exactly the same as all the others before.

You cannot see the difference? Look at the automatic water choke. The one you posted here in the latest post shows the automatic choke metal pipes where the rubber pipes catch on, in a straight line....... the previous post you showed, the second picture the water choke is clearly different as the metal pipes where the rubber pipes catch on are not in straight line.....or is it just me?

Yeah ok, is that what you mean. Yes, there is a difference! But I really would not expect a difference in functionality there. There is a bimetal membrane inside there that changes length by means of the temperature. To calibrate the result of the membrane becoming longer, you can turn the whole unit by the brass clip with the three screws.
You see that in some of the pictures there is Weber written in an arc and others it is straight, probably just som life length updates in the casting. Is there a special reason that you want the pipes either to be in a straight line or under an angle?

If it is the same for you i would choose the 38 DGMS. Thats with a manual choke. I had it on my 320 and it works perfectly. No coolingwater items or vacuum pulldown systems.

Well fitting the Weber you are completely throwing any chance of being original out the window.
Whey are very different carbs.

Then maybe refurbishing your 4A1 is the best option. Is almost the same money if your main components are stil in good order.
