old tyres !

Post by healeyneil »

I decided to go back to the original 13 steel wheels, so got them blasted and painted. To see how the car felt, the original tyres went back on. Although old, there were no cracks, etc. Within a hundred miles or so, this happened Image
Side wall distorted too, but still holding air. As the ride has improved - as you'd expect with the higher sidewall, Im sticking with the 13"s. New set of tyres on order, all I need now is a spare !

take that tyres off ASAP unless you want to kill yourself or buy new panels...
Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car. Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far you take the wall with you.

Probably varies by the country but over here in Holland you can still buy them, but there's less and less choice of proper quality rubber. Same as with 15".

I am located in the U.S. I did find a company in the UK selling classic tires. Here's the link.

I guess any tyre supplyer should be able to order 13" if there is demand to....

avon or toyo are pretty much okay and they are stil in business with 13" :)
