6 speed ZF paired with M20

Hello! Do yo guys know anything about pairing a 6speed ZF and M20 engine in E21?
6 speed transmission is sourced of E87 120d (ZF 1069401052)
I guess custom mounting plate must be fabricated and gear shifting linkage as well, but does it fit without cutting the tunel?

It sounds like it is direct swap to m20 and m5x. (Small 6 patern)
m47 and m20 have the same angle.
GS6 is longer than Getrag 245 by fiew inches...

If you have the gearbox i would say : try if it fits and let us know.

So there is no need for cutting the tunnel, only to fabricate new shifter linkage and shorten drive shaft and make gerbox mounts.
I guess fiew more issues will pop out but nothing spectacular...
