Clutch Slave Cylinder and Bleeding the System

Made the mistake of fitting the gearbox without the slave cylinder fitted, but that's not the issue.

Does it really have to be fitted with the bleed nipple pointing downwards, won't that make ot very difficult to bleed, I can't see a reason why it can't be fitted with the nipple pointing upward?

Yes it does have to be that way, I thought same when doing my rebuild but access to nipple near impossible if cylinder inverted.

I've actually had a pipe on it with the nipple at the top, seems straightforward, but I'll put it upside down tomorrow, no idea how you bleed it though as seems to defy the laws of physics, I'll just give it a go!

And no bid deal, easy to remove and fit the oher way around. If nothing comes from the breed screw it may be clogged internally, remove the screw and clean up.

I have it on top, seen more fitted like that. Worked fine to bleed it, and yes it was a bit fiddling around to get my big paws in there.

Well I've installed it with the bleed nipple facing down as I'm a stickler for originality. Both the slave and master cylinder are new so hopefully it will bleed!
