Re: Bealo's 320/6
so here is some pictures of the recent works....
first of all some repairs to the fire wall on both sides. it was quite challenging putting the beads into the metal but using various bars and ratchet handles and a hammer seem to do the trick!!
Test fitting

Then welded and primed

Thanks for the updates, good progress, thorough approach! And lucky you with a rust free sunroof cassette! So that's the 'only' thing you have to swap there, since you already had a sunroof?

Nice progress indeed! Swapping the cassette may be a hassle, but in the end it is mostly glued to the roof. There are 4 metal flaps welde on to the roof frame, but they are not welded to the roof skin, some space between them. You must be able to cut those and weld the new cassette without damaging the roofskin.

Yes already have the sunroof and mechanism, Shame about the roof, its rust free but very very dented! Its totally stoved in by the c pillar. When I went to buy it the guy had it on top of a shipping container and dropped when getting it down with a forklift..... so he gave it to me for free. Im not looking forward to removing the cassette but will just take my time.
February
After the fire wall repairs I moved onto the scuttle, I had a week off and it took me 3 days to repair both lower corners and across the middle. Really please with it. Only just noticed that I never get any "before" pictures, I'll make sure I get some as could be useful to others.

Maybe not the best way to fabricate this piece but it worked!

These pictures were supposed to be on my last post
rot cut out of fire wall

another fire wall repair

Chassis rail repair in progress

grinding back welds

On to Drivers floor pan!!! I cut the sill off and then set about removing the floor pan which had more holes than a piece of swiss cheese!
I purchased the pans from Valcas Garage who are base in Lithuania. Quick delivery and good price, also appeared to be a good fit. After much measuring cutting and test fitting I concluded that I needed to repair the inner sill first so I had a fixed edge to line up the floor pan

Re: Bealo's 320/6
At the start of March I started to repair the inner sill. It had rotted up to where the sill starts to curve so I bought a cheap metal bender to help with getting a consistent bend.
Cutting out the rot

First piece of new metal being welded in woohoo!!

dressed back and primed

Very proud of this piece, the lower edge of this was completely gone so i had to fabricate a new curved piece with the beads in it. Wish I had taken pics of it in progress
