Hi all,

Wanted to do change the gearbox oil on my 316 1.6 4 speed gearbox. The manual calls for 80W oil - am I correct in assuming LIQUI MOLY GL4 80W mineral oil would do the job ok? Alternatively does anyone have any other recommendations?

Yup, or Castrol Transmax in the same spec for example. Hint: before removing the drain plug, remove the fill plug. Drains easier and prevents running into issues if the fill plug fails to come out properly. Never encountered that problem myself but I've heard some stories...

I use the Kroon Classic for older cars.
