Bmw e21 muffler is glowing red

hi guys ,

i have bmw e21 318i , the problem started when i drove the car and i stop on traffic light the rpm go high ! , so i send it to the garage and they fix it but now i have another issue the muffler of the car glowing red! if we keep the rpm high the muffler not glowing red , any suggestion please.

usually this is caused by a dangerously maladjusted ignition timing. Better check that asap (both static and dynamic) and do an exhaust gas analysis as well.
