E21 (m20) tachometer not working

Hello, a few months ago I was driving and suddenly half of my dash turned off. Dash light went out and the tachometer stopped working. A fuse fixed the light, but the tachometer is still not working, and since they went out at the same time I thought they’d be related. Pulled the cluster out and made sure everything was connected properly, but still haven’t found a fix. Any tips on where else to look to try and fix it?

That is weird, perhaps a previous owner fiddled with the wiring, something gave a short circuit that blew the tach, took the fuse with it, and after the fuse was replaced the tach of course remained defective? All connectors in place, including the flat black one at the back of the tach? Believe its a 3 or 4 pin one. That's the only thing the tach needs.
