Hello All
I just bought this car a few months ago. It's a black 1978 320i anniversary car. A number of 100 cars were produced to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Swedish BMW-importer "Förenade bil import
AB". The cars were equipped with a plaque on the dash board stating that it's a anniversary car (mine is no 100 out of 100), m-stripes, scheelman sport seats with m-stripes, front and rear spoilers, BBS wheels and a sport steering wheel. Mine was also equipped with tinted windows, black inner ceiling and a sunroof.
The car is in a very good condition, almost rust-free. 150000km on the clock. Unfortunately a previous owner has put post-80 rearview mirrors on the car, and painted some of the chrome black. This was probably made in the 80-ties when "black line" was popular

.
I will of course try to put the car back in its original shape.
I have had some problems with the k-jet, but I'm quite convinced that it will be sorted in the near future.

Can't be too much work getting it back to it's original shape again...
Would be nice to know a bit more of the anniversary cars -
Jubilee21 on the board has car #75 - an insanely nice 323...

Thanks.
The information I got is that 100 cars were made, either in black, white or polaris, all with m-stripes and sports seats (the green 323i -79 pussels me a bit, since it is green and nr 75 when mine is no 100 from 78?

). Anyway, I have located 3 more anniversary cars in Sweden, none of them are running at the moment.

Well ehrrmm, it was done by a preivious owner. I have an original exhaust system in the garage just waiting to be fitted.
The to-do-list:
k-jet needs to be tunend
exhaust
rearview mirrors
get rid of black painted chrome trimm
put in a stereo

Hi Anders,
Congrats on a very nice car! Those seats and the M-stripes to contrast the black paintjob. Wow!
And Orjan, thanks for the nice comment on my car...
Mine's produced in december '78, and registered in january '79. Just before I bought mine, I saw another Turmalin green E21 "Jubileumsbil" with gold stripes and gold centered wheels - similar to mine - but it was 320/6 in so-so condition. Can't remember the no. on the plaque, I must admit

, but the plaque was there. The owner told they all looked like that. But at an 02-meeting in Malmoe in oct. '06, I had the chance to speak to one of the salesmen at Förenade Bil, a guy who's been there for 25+ years. He told me that most of the Jubilee cars were
black with
silver stripes or
silver with
black stripes. Which ads to the puzzle... Wonder if we will ever know what is exact spec of the Jubilee cars?

Hej
Thanks for the nice comments. I must say that your car is extremely nice.

Here is a not so good copy of "teknikens värld" no 2-77. You can se the m-stripe on the front fender and on the spoiler. For you that dosent read swedish, the article is about the "anniverary" car. 100 cars were made, you had to pay an extra 5900 SEK (~620€) upon the start price for the car, 39042 SEK (4243€). They also mention the sport seats, spoiler and BBS-wheels.
I do wait for a second article. It is from "förenade bil"s internal newspaper. I will post a copy when I get it. Hopefully it will answer some of our questions.
I have also talked to the sales man you talk about, but my impresion was that he could not remember too much

. When I contacted Förenade bil they did not have any records of the cars in their computers.
I hope to se you and your car at this years Knutstorp-meeting in August, I will be there anyway.

It would be intesting to know the story behind these "jubileumsvagnar"
BTW; the story in Teknikens Värld says the cars will be white, black and metallic grey....

Some progress:
Injektion problem solved. New WUR and pressure accumelator did the trick.
5 speed gear box installed. Really nice on the high way. 110 km/h @ 3000 rpm(gps speed, 120 km/h on speedometer)
