I know this thread is kind of old, but do you have more details? I recently purchased a 80 320i (US model) and thinking of going with a M42 in the future.

Would like to know what modification or fabrication had to be done to make it fit.
What to use with it; radiator, ECU, wire harness(es)???
Is it a direct bolt on to the stock 5 speed tranny I have?

Any info and other photos would be great.

Nice car mate! Would you have any video where you run that car on track/street? It would be so nice to see & hear how that engine runs in E21.

Hello Mate! I'm from lebanon I've got a similar engine swap with the M42 & also the same spoiler, but I suffer from the low crank case which is a few centimeters from the road I've put a skid plate but it seems that your engine is higher than mine. Any pics for engine mounts or ideas& advices??????
