Yup, I just bought myself a very nice daily driver

It was imported to Denmark from southern of Germany this spring. It has extremely little rust and is a great driver
1985 E28 535i completely without any extras what so ever other than a manual sunroof, check panel, ABS and a limited slip diff.
Lowered suspension and 17" Alpina. 8,5" wide in front and 10" wide in the back.
Unfortunatly it is a catalysator model so only 185hp and 290NM...
It needs a god engine wash, cleaning of interior and a good hard polish and it should be as good as new... allmost.

NICE!
I'm weak for good looking, white E28s. (And red ones really...)
Does the cat really steal like 30 +/- hp?
Or is there something else done with the engine to make it less powerful and more environmental?
How is the interior like?
Looks very good.. I want a 535i too

The cat is not the only difference between the cat and the non-cat model.
There is a difference in the motor compression and computer and so on.
Yeah, about the interior... hmm, well... very standard and very green

Believe the german cat version had a different cam and motronic too. Here in Holland the non cat was 218hp and the cat version was 211hp so that's how much the cat and a lambda sond steals I guess...

Great looking car, must run a LOT stronger than my 528e's, the auto is almost diesel-like in 0-30 acceleration and the 5 speed isn't much better. Wish we got the skinny little bumpers that the rest of the world got...damn US bumper reg's.

Sold the E28 535i yesterday

I drive too much, and with these days gas prices and the 535i's economy it is just too bloody expensive!
Bought me a nice eco car

1988 BMW 325i with a 2,7 190hp plant, Bilstein and M3 suspension, scorpion exhaust etc. etc. Great driver but looks like crap
