Nice work!

Niall... did U even compare, for example, an E30 fully convertible and an E30 Baur? No? Then do so... then you will agree the fully convertible is a pensioners' car and the Baur is a drivers car!

Yeah, have to agree with Jeroen; a Baur is much better. I drove a 325i Baur once, and it handled just as good as a hardtop - very good for a convertible. There also isn't the extra weight due to extra chassis braces needing to be fitted underneath the car to try and retain rigidity - the A,B,C pillars are all still there!

These Baurs are real convertibles - they are thoughtful drop tops, because they retain good driving manners. The full convertibles just have their roof chopped off for vanity w/o any real regard for handling. In other words, full drop tops just destroy the great handling the e30s and e21s have. Although they look nice and have aesthetic appeal, I'd never buy one - only Baur for me! :D

a convertible is not about driving hard, its about pimping
with the top down, if i want a drivers car, ill keep my 2 door
hard top e30, the hard top e21's have little chassis strength
as it is, i dont want to amplify that, so ill stick to what i said,
that i still dont like baurs, its either a full drop top or a hard top,
there is no in between for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I just love driving a convertible that still handles great. I'm not the kind of person that would like a showoff car that handles like cr@p... that's personal of course.

Well, everyone is entitled to their opinions :D ....But I'd love a drop top that you can pimp around in that also handles great

I think this is where you and I differ; for me it is either a driver's car or just cheap transport. Pimping without substance never appealed to me - engineering is always important to me in a car; so just having a sick-looking car without great dynamics seems to be a waste of cash 8)

I guess this is why we disagree on the Baurs!

im not one for style over substance,
i always have at least one car with a hot motor
and generally shit bodywork , but i also like to
have a stock reliable good looking car for taking
the woman out in or going to a job interview,

personally i prefer driving my e21, but what do you
think a girl would rather drive in, my 325is i think,

also there is nothing particularly bad about a 325i cabby
i have been in one, and unless you really pushed it
you wont notice any difference. they are reinforced, so the
real difference would be the extra weight,

its just different strokes for different folks
there is nothing badly engiineered about a cabby

Yep, so true!...But all of the girls I've been with or known have never liked my e30. They prefer to go for a ride in my mother's Honda  .....because the latter is nice, shiny and plasticky with lots of buttons to press (and pop-up lights). Anything too old looking doesn't seem to appeal to chicks. I guess the 325is is better because its sportier and has little chrome, whereas my 84 e30 had chrome and wind-up windows; this garnered responses like 'its too ooold', or 'a new Bimmer would be better.' pfft

As a result I'm not too concerned about what chicks think anymore. If they don't like the e12 (and they won't) they can date some wanker who owns a Haonda with clears:D....Better still are girls who don't car about cars altogether

What polemic among the TC and cabrios!.

For my to have a TC is much better since, first they have been made less and there are no more 10 in Sapin and I will go much more protected from the wind of the water and from the flies.

Today I have finised connecting all the pipes, putting oil to the engine, change and differential and filling the circuit of refrigeration.

I have installed safety belts behind, the car is of 1978 and it was not bringing them and I am beginning the interior. Next Saturday I wait to have it walking.. (not legaly whit TUV) and I will put a photo.
