hi just found the forum really interesting, im 25, living in france now, ive got a bmw e21 323I, ive had it for a couple of years now,i had wanted one of these for years i had my first e21 when i was 16! ive so far fitted
spax psx adj suspension all round(been reading apparently not a good choice)
braided hoses
rebult the calipers
new drilled and grooved disks
poly bushes
2 rear silencers by bosal
the problem is that a week after doing all that , i blew the engine up a week later :( not happy!
now ive pulled the old engine out,and bought a 525i e34 1989 and hoping t fit this soon so i ll have loads of questions!! thanks

its been a while since ive updated my profile, so its about time!
my car has sat around for 4 years waiting for a new engine, so i finally got on with it!
First job was to source the parts that had been stolen while it was stood up,

rad
alloys
exhaust

also the fuel pump was knackererd!

heres a few pictures
as she stands today with original motorsport bumper

my new rims, painted 1 black to help me decide? keep them silver or black? what do you think?

my m20B25 conversion,i rebuild the head, new head gasket, new headbolts, cambelt, etc

so, the m20 is running still got a few bits to sort out;

e21 waterpump
tidy up wiring harness
put battery in boot,
and a few other bits

the plan is to run it with the m20 for 6 months or so then strip it bare for full paint inside and out
then i will be fitting a m52b28 lump in , as for ive found a donor car

what do you think?

Welcome back! M20B25 is fu in an E21 already, giving it Alpina C1 performance but with some torque added. Upgrading to M52B28 gives even more torque and horses, it will be great fun and prolly outrun the average Alpina B6 but with less weight up front she will be easier to handle... thumbs up! But, you will definitely need a limited slip diff!

thanks
yep, cant wait to take it for a drive, its been a few years!
i thought it was pretty fast with the 2.3!
my plan is to upgrade the rear diff to an e30 limited slip i know its not a simply swap but ive been researching it quite a lot so i think it will be possible to do.

M52B28 !!

i was going to do a m50b25 as for donor cars are cheap but i thought i would hold out till i found a m52b28, i liked the idea as it hasnt been done very often, good power, smootheness and not too bad on fuel also they are lighter,

its all good!

hi there,

i've found this thread on google. looks very intereseting to me. are there any updates?? i'd like to see pics of the finished car.

does anyone have seen other e21 with m52b28? its a great engine, got it in my e36 as well, but its kind of boring. in an e21 it would be a lot more interesting :D

not sure if anyone on here has one, but a BMW classic specialist called fritz's bits have done M52 conversions. it's what i'll be getting once uni is over!

is the m50/m52 e21 conversion similar to the e30 conversion? same parts, e.g. 525i e34 oil pan?

people always say, the m50 is made for the e30, and my experience is that its not easy to fix it into e21
