No prob!
Just make sure you get the ones that do not shrink with age. If it shrinks, water will get in and rust can form in the chassis.

hi pedi, i saw your last post in jeremys forum i think with the pcis of your progress, i wish i kept an eye on the gallery forum, i only just seen the new pcis etc, keep us updated with the progress, i especially interested as i have to do everthing your are doing body panel wise on my own baur cabrio,
the only differecne is you have to put front inner wings on, heres a list of panels i have to replace on my car,
chassis:
front panel
front inner wing struts, left and right
front chassis rails left and right
right front door post
outer side sills or side members left and right
inner side sills or side members left and right
front floor panels/boards left and right
rear floor panels/boards left and right
rear side panels/quarters left and right
outer rear wheel housings/turrets left and right
inner rear wheel housings/turrets left and right
boot lid front lip/lower windscreen
rear panel
boot floor
boot floor struts left and right
and several other small patches
bolt on panels:
bonnet
boot lid
front wings
doors
i have probably a 1/3 of these panels, i ahve the rare floor panels, and i know i can get the other panels easily,
only genuine panels for me, like you
i wanted to ask you, why did you buy front inner wings and then buy the front strut parts for them, these parts must come on the front inner wings from new,
i sure they do, can you tell me whther they do or not.
also if for some reason you dont use some panels can you give me first notice.
i think what you are doing is brilliant, im doing the same but a little further as my car is a pure rotten heap.
i would appreciate it if you could keep me up to date or your status, i wouldlike to really see how you do things on your cabrio as it kind of helps me try to figure out where i should start on my own, dont get me wrong i no how to do it and arnt firghtened of it, but its easier to watch someone do it first,
if you get any problems or anyhting i can help you figure them out.
thanks anyway, i look forward to your next post.

Hello Phill.phillbriggs wrote:also the front chassis legs or frames come on the inner wings also, was this a mistake you made.
Front chassis legs did not come on the inner wings. They had to be ordered seperately.
Since last picture, I have recieved the floor panels (from Walloth... Not orginalBMW parts, but the only floordetail aviable to the E21), front windowframe and some other small things. Only doors and trunk lid is to be ordered now.
Thanks for feedback here Phill, I will post more as I am doing progress. I have not done anything yet, I have been so much away from home - as I am driving a truck car-transporter, from Germany to Norway. But work will be done, and I will post pics further on...
thanks.

what floor pnels, are they just the long strips that go up the sides, as the complete front floor panels arnt available, i think the inner wings should come complete, its stupid having to buy all the different parts, why are u replacing all the doors and boot lid with new, arnt there any good secoond hand ones, are you replacing the whole front windscreen frame.

I have got both the long ones, and the "wide" ones (for front compartment) from Walloth.phillbriggs wrote:what floor pnels, are they just the long strips that go up the sides, as the complete front floor panels arnt available, i think the inner wings should come complete, its stupid having to buy all the different parts, why are u replacing all the doors and boot lid with new, arnt there any good secoond hand ones, are you replacing the whole front windscreen frame.
I repeat, front inner wings do NOT come complete.
Changing doors, lid, hood etc to new BMWoriginal parts... This is because I want my E21 in "new" condition.
I am replacing the whole front windscreenframe, yes. It has rusted...
