hi guy's bought this a couple of months ago looked in really good nick untill istripped it for a repaint and found the dreaded rot.
So now it's turned into a bit of a restoration not looking for concours but she will be in very good shape by the time i finish (I hope).

Tell you what, where you have the rusts, i.e. window sill area, rear valance, boot strip area, i had the same problem mate!! its expected on old cars and also where there have been in thier like garaged e.t.c., the rear valance, i would change that cos there thin and you would be cutting out holse and patching them, i change my whol complete panel and is very good and also the window frame area, cut out as much rust you can or at least grind it back and panel weld which i see you have done then coat it with rust treatment then hammerite protection cos all restorers ive spoken to they say use the hammerite thats in DIY stores which is the out doors paint, also under the chassis at the back boot area clean that and hammerite it and if you have the chance like what i did do the engine bay and under the wheel arch all 4 sides cos when water splashed under there it rolls off and has no time to rott it providing you get the drill with wire brish and bring it back to bare metal then apply coats which i did and you should be ok for many years without worries.

Looks a bit like my track slug, except mine is a bare shell at the mo with no engine/mechanicals/suspension etc. Pulled the windscreen today (and broke it ) and found surprising quantities of rust in the bottom of the frame. I'm now REALLY worried about the rust blister in the bottom corner of the screen on my blue 316, dread to think what's under there.

i'm trying to get hold of a good front panel (still not sure how different the early front panel is?) and intend to cut out and replace the rear valence, also need to patch up the sills have 1 new wing but need to get another for the other side.

I welded up the windscreen surround etch primed, then wet on wet primed and coated in 2k clear over base should be good for a few years

i'm just glad the floor is ok
