The car I picked up last night:

It will be returned to the road with the minimum of work needed for an MOT, fitted with all my goodies from my M50 project and enjoyed for the summer 8)

I'm glad its been saved from the scrap man and not broken for spares. Mind you the engine would have been nice in my Baur.

Did you manage to fire it up ok? I was guessing the starter was just sticking cos its sat idle for so long? Suspension seemed pretty firm for a standard car?

The alloys I got off it look peachy on my Baur. I am exteeeeeeemely chuffed with them! 8)

I haven't got it to fire up just yet, I was having alarm/battery problems. He mentioned the starter was sticking, even if it is I've got spares. I haven't had much of a look at the suspension, but it looks like the rears might have spring assistors from first glance. They'll be getting attention one or the other and most likely my coilovers from my M50 project.

I've already managed to do some damage to it. In readiness to drop it off the trailer I unattached the ratchet straps and pumped the tyres up but then I ran out of time. I assumed the brakes were slightly seized since I got that opinion when winching the car on the trailer. As I pulled the trailer back into the shed I braked and the car went straight into the winch you see pictured! One dead numberplate and front valance! I'm not too bothered as I was going to cut the valance up anyway, but the number plate is obliterated! I think the bumper was unscathed since pumping the tyres up raised it up a couple of inches. Remember to use the handbrake at all times!
